| Karia (Karya) is the second largest town on Lefkas. It
is centrally placed in the mountains of Lefkada, half way between the
West and East coast beaches and about 20 minutes drive from Lefkas Town.
People choose Karia and the mountain villages such as Alexandros,
Platistoma and Pinacohori to live not only because of the proximity to
the best beaches on both sides of the island. They also enjoy the cooler
air and fresh breezes during the hot months of July and August. It is
