| The south of Lefkas island includes the mountain
villages of Fterno, Sivros and Poros. There are all traditional Greek
villages with very little tourism, bit all are within a 10 minute drive
of the sea. The coastal village of Vassiliki is famous for windsurfing
along its long south facing beach, and it has a small ferry port with
regular ferries to Keffalonia. Sivota is set in a sheltered natural
harbour and is popular with yachts and flotillas.
Poros Bay (also known as Rouda Bay or Mikros Gialos) is a beautiful
south facing bay and beach with crystal clear sea water, perfect for
swimming. It is busy in July and August, but is quiet the rest of the
summer and its beachside tavernas are a nice place for lunch. |
